I’ve worked on a variety of LED lighting projects, custom 3D printed LED matrix displays, art pieces, and product prototypes.
My favorite project so far has been creating a 3D printable LED Matrix. The lights are driven by the very fun to use Pixelblaze LED controller. The LED Matrix is comprised of reconfigurable cubes that each hold a single large WS2812 light that is part of a continuous strand. The Pixelblaze controller allows the creation of a mapping function that will map the individual pixels into physical space. It is then easy to create constantly changing animated patterns that make for a pleasant background piece in a room.
I have also designed accelerometer influenced decorative bike lighting using Arduino/Fastled.
